Vestry Election Nominations
06/02/2010
Four parishioners have been nominated to stand for election to the vestry. Ballots and biographies will be distributed in the Narthex(the foyer) today.
Those not picked up will be sent out by email or regular mail, depending on the person. All ballots must be received in the office by close of business on Tuesday, June 1. Ordinarily the election ends on the Monday after Trinity Sunday, but will be extended this year because of the observance of Memorial Day.
The Vestry is the elected lay leadership of the parish. Its principle responsibilities include the church buildings and finances. The Vestry also assists the Rector and staff with outreach, planning, and program. Our Vestry has twelve members. Each year four people are elected to three year terms. A person may be elected to serve a second term.
Who can vote? Anyone who has attended St. Luke and The Epiphany for a year and appears on the parish's records as having financially supported the church this year is eligible to vote and to nominate people to serve on the Vestry.
How do I know if I'm eligible to vote or to be nominated for the Vestry?
Lists of those eligible to vote for Vestry are available in the Narthex and on the bulletin board downstairs.
